Boxee Box Logs

Question

I've been asked by Boxee Support to send debug logs. How do I do that?

Answer

1. Find the IP address of your Box: Settings -> System -> Information.
2. Enable Debug logging: Settings -> Advanced -> Debug Level and set to debug. The system will become slower, but will provide much more information to me.
3. Reboot - I want to capture everything
Wait. If it gets frozen again, open a web browser on your PC/Mac to http://<ip_address>:8080, click on Boxee Logs Get Latest, and send me the resultant file.

3. Reboot, so the log will capture all activity on the box.

4. Recreate the issue you are having and then send the logs:

  • Open a web browser on your PC to http://ip_address:8080 (ie. http://192.168.2.5:8080).  This is the address you got in step 1.
  • Click on Boxee Logs Get Latest
  • Download the log file to your PC and attach it to the support email or Jira ticket
