The General section in the settings contains the settings that are responsible for the Boxee presentation to the user. You will find here the settings for your location, the look of the Boxee Interface and the languages settings.
NOTE: Some of the settings in this sections are for advanced users only, don't change them unless you understand those settings.
Location
Time Format - 24/12 hours clock presentation format.
TimeZone Country - Choose your country so the clock will auto adjust itself.
Timezone City - The option will be open only in countries that have more then one time zone.
Weather Settings - Settings for AccuWeather app that presents itself in the home screen.
Display
The display section contains the settings for the Boxee User Interface, changing the settings here will not affect the playback of the content, only the User Interface.
Resolution - Sets the resolution for the Boxee interface, no effect on the playback.
NOTE: after changing the resolution use the "test and apply resolution..." option to apply it.Match screen refresh rate to video - Matches the TV frame rate to the videos frame rate.
3D Frame-Compatible (side/side or over/under) TV - For TV that support 3D it will present the Boxee Interface in 3D, doesn't affect playback.
Menu
Set the default view option for the menu. You can set it to present first you local content or the content from the web.
Screensaver
The settings for the screensaver in the Boxee Box. You can change it from a slide show mode to a dim state and control the time when it starts.
NOTE: the screensaver won't start during playback of video content.
Language
In the Language section you can change the Language of the Interface and the menus, you can also add other languages to the remote as a virtual keyboard.
Sounds
Activates and deactivates the navigation sounds in the Boxee Box menus.
Advanced Settings
This section contains the advanced display settings of the Boxee Box, don't change this settings unless you understand them completely.
HDMI Output - sets the color output for the Boxee to the TV, the available options are: YUV 422, YUV 444, RGB Low, RGB High.
HDMI Pixel depth - Sets the HDMI Pixel Depth from the Boxee to the TV, the available option are: 24bit, 30bit, 36bit.
Enable EDID - Enables/ Disables the EDID, needed if you have an older TV model or if the Boxee is connected to a receiver.
