Adding content from a USB drive to the Boxee Boxe

Boxee Box has two usb ports that you can connect external drives to it.

After connecting the drives to the Boxee Box you can add the drives as a File Source (will be added to the media library and resolved) or just browse to it.

NOTE: Boxee provides enough power to only one unpowered external drive, so if you want to content two external drives one of them will need to be self-powered.

How to add the content of an external drive to your Media Library:

  1. Connect the external drive to the back of the Boxee Box
  2. Navigate to settings -> File Sources -> Add Source -> Local
  3. Choose the folder you want to add and click on ADD SOURCE
  4. Set the source settings and click on ADD
  5. Let Boxee finish the scan and resolve process and the files will be added to your Media Library

Note: There is no option to add the root of the drive, the content needs to be placesd in a folder

How to browse an external drive connected to the Boxee Box

  1. Connect the external drive to the back of the Boxee Box
  2. Navigate to Files -> Browse
  3. The name of the drive will appear there, click into it and browse it

Note: When the file is not added as a file source to the Boxee Box the content will not get resolved and you will only see the files without the information and cover art.
