Supported Media Formats of the Boxee Box

The Boxee Box supports the following types of media files:

  • H.264 AVC (TS/AVI/MKV/MOV/M2TS/MP4)
  • VC-1 (TS/AVI/MKV/WMV)
  • MPEG-1 (DAT/MPG/MPEG)
  • MPEG-2 (MPG/MPEG/VOB/TS/TP/ISO/IFO)
  • MPEG-4 (MP4/AVI/MOV)
  • DivX 3/4/5/6 (AVI/MKV)
  • DivX HD
  • Xvid (AVI/MKV)
  • WMV9 (WMV/ASF/DVR-MS)
  • RMVB (RV8/RV9) up to 720@30p
  • MP3
  • WAV/PCM/LPCM
  • WMA
  • AIF/AIFF
  • AC3/AAC
  • OGG
  • FLAC
  • DTS
  • Dolby Digital/Dolby True HD

*Supported file extensions for videos, wrappers, and associated audio/support files include avi, asf, divx, mkv, mov, mp3, mp4, mpeg, mpg, m4a, m4v, vob, xvid, ifo, iso (DVD/BD ISO), WMV, FLV, AVCHD, M2TS, TS

NOTE:  Although the Boxee Box supports the listed file types, it might not be able to support every codec used to create the files.
