Using Content Search in Iomega TV

Question

How to use the Boxee Search option?

Answer

Boxee content search makes it easy to find specific TV shows, movies, music, and apps. You can search for a specific title, keywords, or a filename, or you can browse using media content filters.

To access the search bar, press the Back button on the remote control until you see a screen with the Search field on the upper left side (The Menu Bar). To search for a specific title, enter text in the search field and press Enter or OK. Boxee will search your local sources and also online and display a list of all the files matching the search text. Move the highlight to the item you want and press OK to play the file. If the item you want doesn't appear on the list, try using one of the search filters or search again using a variation of the title or keywords.

To browse using the media content filters, use the navigation arrows to highlight a category, then move the highlight down to select specific filters. Press OK to browse the media files in the category you've selected.

Also, you can filter and sort the content (Movies/ Shows) from the Menus, When inside Shows or Movies, from the Menu Bar click down and navigate through the categories and the channels the, for example Action, Comedy etc... When inside the Shows or Movies you can sort the files there by using the sort icons on the upper right side. The sort option are A-Z/ Z-A, Newest/ Oldest First, also you have there the channel filter, you can un-check sources that you don't want them to be displayed in the library - this applies only to online sources.

You can also change the display of the Media Library from a List view to Thumbnails wall. If you want to change the default use of Movies/ Shows, to display Local Files or Content from the Internet you can change it in Settings -> General -> Menu.
